Andrews Bowen have completed the refurbishment of the hill gallop track at Kim Bailey Racing. Based in Cheltenham, Kim Bailey has trained over 1100 winners and is lucky enough to have achieved the magical “Big Three”, The Grand National (Mr Frisk), The Cheltenham Gold Cup (Master Oats) and The Champion Hurdle (Alderbrook).

Set in the stunning Cotswolds, Throndale Farm underwent a refurbishment of the 2462m2 Gallop Track; the old surface was removed along with the tarmac base as some areas became non-porous. Following this the new tarmac base was laid ready for our BHA approved Safetrack surface to be installed ready for immediate use.

Andrews Bowen’s British Horse Racing Authority approved SafeTrack is designed to provide the best performance racing surface for training gallops and racecourses around the world. SafeTrack is consistent and highly durable.

Andrews Bowen SafeTrack is a blend of multi-washed silica sand, elastic, polypropylene & polyester fibres coated with a high quality wax . The special blend of components makes SafeTrack an extremely durable and is less susceptible to temperature change. The fibres create a ‘root structure’ replicating a good turf, giving maximum stability.

The wax provides additional stability to SafeTrack and gives the surface specialist properties of being dust free and allowing for minimal maintenance. The surface has reduced kickback and excellent shock absorbing properties. A highly consistent and durable wax coated surface.
