Built in 1826, Bolesworth Castle is situated at the heart of a 6,000 acre dairy farming estate in Cheshire. Nina Barbour’s vision was to create an enviable location to host the highest level of equestrian and sporting events and championships, without compromising the beautiful landscape.

Andrews Bowen helped design the idea for the oval International arena, surrounded by a castle inspired moat. Built to the spec of the 2012 Olympic surface at Greenwich by our team of experts, Bolesworth Castle was transformed into a spectacular venue to host one of the worlds best shows.

‘Its wonderful, one of the most beautiful facilities I’ve seen for a long time, they’ve done a remarkable job, it’s a world class venue for sure. Nina Barbour has done a tremendous job and she deserves all the success. You could run any event here including a championship.’ Nick Skelton OBE, London 2012 & Rio 2016 Gold medalist.

Following the success of Bolesworth International Horse Shows’ previous years, the show had a need for further arena space to host more classes. From this the Castle Arena was built; 60m x 80m arena built by the Andrews Bowen Team and surfaced with the same as the Main International Arena, our London 2012 mix.

With four all-weather arenas in total, all constructed and surfaced by Andrews Bowen on a stunning estate with an 18th Century Built Castle as a backdrop, Bolesworth Castle is the perfect setting for any event.
