Attington Sport Horses in Oxfordshire is one of the UK’s premier centres for sport horse training and facilities and home to Irish international event rider Austin O’Connor.
Attington Sport Horses combine the passion, heritage and experience of present owners Kate and Frank Jarvey, who have provided the significant development to make the Attington facilities the best around, with the extensive eventing experience, passion and professional management of Austin O’Connor.
Attington Sport Horses – a multi-faceted equestrian business dedicated to excellence in breeding, producing and competing of sport horses, alongside outstanding facilities, including the all weather cross country designed and built by Andrews Bowen.
Our team transformed the then turf cross country field into a superb training facility which is available for use all year round regardless of the weather. Surfaced with Andrews Bowen Propell, similar to the best turf due to the synthetic fibres acting as a ‘root structure’, meaning horses are able to travel over the surface more securely and with better balance.
Austin O’Connor is synonymous with International Eventing, having represented Ireland on the Senior Team seven times, including five appearances at the European Championships and two Olympic Games – 2000 in Sydney on Horseware Fabio and Beijing 2008 on Hobby du Mee. Since moving to the UK in 1994, Austin has produced and ridden numerous horses at every level of eventing and has ridden many horses at four-star competitions with a number of top 20 placings including both Lexington and Badminton.
What Attington customers have to say;
“The new cross country schooling arena at Attington Stud is fantastic! The surface is very good, there is plenty to jump for young horses from tiny fences up to BE Novice/Intermediate. The banks are fun and very educational, there is a good ditch with plenty of options. The best feature is the water it’s brilliant, loads of different types of jumps/steps into and out of the water. Can’t recommend it highly enough.” – Gemma Tattersall, Team GBR Olympian
