An Equestrian Training and competition facility based in the heart of Cheshire, Somerford Park Farm is a stand out facility, providing something for every equestrian need.

Somerford wanted to broaden the options available for the facility and initially decided on the addition of a large outdoor arena. With the help of Andrews Bowen, the now 3 acre outdoor arena was designed. The arena has Andrews Bowen Prowax surface material on, giving stability and support regardless of the work being carried out on the arena.

Andrews Bowen ProWax is perfect for competition at any level. This high-performance wax coated system is suitable for use by all competition disciplines, indoors and out. ProWax is extremely durable and capable of withstanding the rigours of heavy use.

A waxed, multi-washed silica sand, polypropylene, polyester and elastic fibre blend, ProWax provides a secure and forgiving surface that will reduce repetitive strain injury.

Horses are able to travel freely over the surface thanks to the synthetic fibres which act as a ‘root structure’ similar to the best turf.

ProWax requires no watering, is dust free and needs only the minimal maintenance expected for a waxed surface. ProWax is consistent and suitable for the very highest level of equestrian competition.
Throughout the winter months the Arena becomes a X-Country Technique Facility, linked by an all weather track to the large Water Jump complex.

Following this the arena is host to different events such as The Somerford International Horse Trials and Premier League British Dressage and National Horse Trials.

Following the completion of the 9,400sqm Outdoor Arena, Somerford made the decision to add a 100m x 30m Indoor Arena to complement the existing facilities. Surfaced with Andrews Bowen ProWax as the Large Outdoor.
